The Heart Behind Gravity & Grace
A personal letter from Kathryn Austin, LCSW

Dear friend,
I want to leave this world a little better than I found it. That hope is at the heart of my work, and it shapes what I am building with Gravity & Grace.
For me, helping begins with the person in front of me: listening closely, honoring what they have lived through, and making room for what they hope might still be possible. I feel a deep responsibility to bring my experience, attention, and heart to that work. I also feel called to share what I have learned with more people than I could ever meet individually.
Making room for more people
There are only so many hours I can spend in one-to-one sessions. The desire to help reaches further.
That is why I have begun creating online courses and a community: to give more people access to practices they can return to in their own lives, at their own pace, and alongside others. I want this work to be useful on an ordinary day, in the middle of a difficult conversation, a season of uncertainty, or a choice that asks you to be honest with yourself.
My hope is that these spaces help you feel supported as you learn to recognize what you need and decide how you want to move forward.
A lifetime of learning, offered with care
Gravity & Grace brings together years of clinical experience, spiritual exploration, and the ongoing practice of being human. It carries what I have learned through my work and through my own life, including the questions I am still living.
I have poured my heart into making these ideas accessible and practical. The Gravity & Grace method is my effort to bring that learning into a framework you can explore, question, and use.
I believe healing begins with coming to know yourself more honestly: noticing your patterns, listening to your body, understanding your values, and meeting your own experience with curiosity and care. That understanding can help you recognize where you are and what your next step might be. Sometimes that step includes asking for support.
A compass you make your own
The Gravity & Grace Compass offers a way to pause, reflect, and find your bearings. You bring the life it will be used within.
Your history, circumstances, beliefs, and choices matter. I want you to have room to consider what resonates, ask questions about what does not, and decide how to apply what you learn. My intention is to support your capacity to make choices that feel thoughtful and true to your values.
The meaning of a tool grows through how we use it. A moment of reflection might become a boundary, an honest conversation, a little more rest, or a different way of showing up for someone you love.
A living, evolving practice
This work holds years of care and experience. It also holds room to grow.
I expect Gravity & Grace to evolve as I continue learning and listening. I will keep asking what is helpful, what needs to become clearer, and what deserves to change. Taking this work seriously means remaining open to those questions.
You do not need to wait until you have everything figured out to begin. Neither do I. We can take a first step with care, pay attention to what we learn, and let that learning shape the next one.
What we bring into the world
Knowing ourselves influences how we live with others. It can help us listen more openly, recognize our responsibilities, and act with greater intention in our families, our communities, and the wider world.
At a time when so much asks for our attention, I believe there is value in slowing down enough to understand what we stand for and how we want to contribute. Each of us has a different part to play. The care we bring to that part matters.
My dream is to help as many people as possible live with greater awareness, compassion, and courage. If this work helps you take even one meaningful step in that direction, it is fulfilling the purpose that brought me here.
Thank you for being here, and for considering what your own first step might be.
